FEBRUARY 3RD, 2017 - PRINCE ALBERT, SK
The students of the Blessed Marie Rivier School were given the opportunity to learn about the charism and life of the Patroness of their school.
The day started with the celebration of a mass. The grade 12 students were in charge of doing the ministry. Father Maurice Fiolleau, the celebrant, wished the Sisters and the students a happy feast day. In his homily he then encouraged all the students to take Blessed Marie Rivier as their model of faith and to keep her spirit ablaze in their life. Throughout the whole liturgy, the main message was to know Jesus Christ through the Word of God.
To continue to make Jesus Christ known and loved like Marie Rivier, the Sisters were invited to the library during the day, to mingle with the students to answer questions they would have about Blessed Mother Rivier. The students read and took notes from the resources presented, concerning Mother Rivier’s life; dates, facts, anecdotes to get a better understanding of her apostolate. Then they wrote their findings on a poster. They were encouraged to write a personal reflection on small cards as to how they could live Rivier’s message.
During the day the Sisters, teachers and students were encouraged to use acrylics to paint a Marie Rivier mosaic picture on a 2 meter canvas drawn by Mrs. Elizabeth Yonza. This mosaic is to be hung in the school.
