On Friday, May 24th 2019, we had the joy of celebrating the 60thanniversary of three of our sisters’ religious life: Sister Suzanne Papen, Sister Estelle Lavigne and Sister Evelyn Corbeil. After sharing a delightful meal with the community, and in a joyful spirit, a PowerPoint was then presented to the Sisters which included pictures and speeches with funny and humorous anecdotes that underlined their lives and services in the community. The journey of life is sometimes funny! A toast was made to the jubilarians while they enjoyed a lunch. Following this was the joy of opening their awaited gifts and be fascinated over them.
Dear Sisters with your talents and gifts, each one of you has served the Lord in one way or another and has been a presence of God in the Church and in the world. We thank God for His blessings and for giving you the graces you need to continue responding to His love. May you make Jesus Christ known and loved for many more years. CONGRATULATIONS!
Theday after the celebrations, Sister Raymonde Arcand passed away in North Battle Ford Union Hospital. She was also one of the five Sisters who celebrated her 60thanniversary of religious life this year.
‘May she rejoice with God and enjoy the wonder of God’s kingdom.’
On March 24th,other celebrations of religious life took place at the Sister’s infirmary:
Sister Therese St. Pierre – 70th Anniversary
Sister Therese Marin – 65th Anniversary
Sister Helen Landry – 60th Anniversary.
In the morning the Sisters gathered together to celebrate a special mass in their honor, then all enjoyed a well prepared dinner, followed by a meaningful rosary and special sung Vespers.

During the year of consecrated life, Pope Francis said, “consecrated life is a gift to the church; it is time to celebrate the gifts of our sisters, the charism, the role and contributions they make in their community.” So we take the opportunity to say ‘thank you’ dear Sisters for this specific contribution through the witness of a life given to God and to the church. Thank you for being an instrument of God to serve others.Congratulations!
