It is always a joy for the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary to get together to celebrate the feast of their foundress, Saint Marie Rivier, whom they honor every year.
On Saturday morning, His Excellency Bishop Stephen Hero presided the Eucharist in the presence of the Sisters and their Associates. In his homily, he compared how Saint Marie Rivier resembled the apostle St. Paul. She had the zeal for evangelization, with her heart on fire she was empowered by Christ. She travelled around the country and visited many homes to make Jesus Christ known and loved. Her eyes were always on the Lord, giving him glory.
We thank the musicians and the group of sisters that animated the singing; Sister Re-Anne playing the guitar, Sister Evelyn Nedelec and Sister April Mireau accompanied her with the organ as they sang “We come to share our story”, sung in different languages; some verses in Vietnamese made it easy for our Vietnamese Sister Kieu.
From time to time on significant anniversaries, the Sisters renew their vows, their total dedication to God and reflect on God’s bountiful love. At the offertory, they renewed their commitment in the presence of their guests. They are committed to the life and mission of their Congregation, for the church and for the world.
“Go make disciples of all nations “. St. Matthew
After the ceremony the Sisters gathered together for a delicious fraternal meal prepared by their devoted staff.
Let us all be an open “Gospel “and stay united in prayer, trusting in God’s grace as he guides our everyday footsteps.
