doorThe Sisters of the Presentation of Mary of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, take the opportunity to say a heartfelt farewell to Sister Margaret Camire from the USA Province and to Sister Florinda Palanog from the Province of the Philippines.

Since we are an international apostolic community founded by Blessed Anne-Marie Rivier, we have all received the charism to make Jesus Christ known and loved everywhere. This family spirit unifies us and allows us to feel “at home” wherever we find a community of Sisters. This is exactly what took place upon the arrival of two of our Sisters.

Sister Margaret arrived in April 2017 at the novitiate in North Battleford to accompany Sister Florinda during her year of Spiritual Renewal. After six months they both moved to the Provincial House in Prince Albert to pursue the Sabbatical Program.

After many years in Africa where Sister Margaret was involved in formation and other ministries, she now continues to journey with Sisters who seek to mature their faith and grow in the joy of “a life of total surrender to God and to others.” C84 Sister Florinda was this brave Sister who dared to come to Western Canada to experience the four seasons, especially winter with its snow and brutal freeze. Actually she delighted in the snow, making “snow angels” and a snowman resembling Frosty! It was a mutual enrichment of cultures and customs. The horizon of our minds and hearts were stretched from West to East.

We enjoyed their presence among us as they fully participated in our community life, be it at meals, prayers, the Eucharist or in a variety of activities. What joy it was to have them in our midst and experience together our communion in Jesus and forming unforgettable bonds of sisterly friendship.

As they return to their countries, at this end of March, we wish them both much happiness and success as they continue to spread the Word of God and the flame of Mother Rivier with hearts set on fire.
