Today is a day of jubilee, a day of thanksgiving.
On June 30th, 2019, the Sisters of The Presentation of Mary of Prince Albert gathered to rejoice and give thanks. Our hearts were filled with gratitude for the 50 years of fidelity of Sister Lucie Hamel who celebrated her golden jubilee. We are grateful to Jesus for having chosen her to live the consecrated life. We are glad that she has said yes 50 yrs ago. We are also grateful for the 25 years of religious life of our sister Re-Anne Letourneau and Sister Chantelle Bonk. The sisters have vowed their life to a relationship with God and to work in his vineyard. Each vocation is always a gift of God.We thank God for His blessings and for giving our sisters the graces they need to continue responding to His love. In the morning, Bishop Albert Thevenot Afr. M. of the P.A. Diocese, accompanied by Father Doug Jeffrey O.M.I. concelebrated the Eucharist for the intentions of the jubilarians. He then blessed them and encouraged them to continue to attach themselves to Christ and to continue to be fruitful in the years to come.
In the afternoon, fraternal fellowship was then enjoyed by all with lots of laughter, storytelling, speeches, skits, songs, presentations and jokes in the joy of communion.
This get-together contributed to ‘what makes the happiness of a community.’
To conclude the celebration, we shared a light with each other, a symbol of our desire to be a light for the world.
