ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA!
ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA!
This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad. (Psalm 118:24)
“On the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala came to the tomb early in the morning, while it was still dark, and saw the stone removed from the tomb.” (cf. Jn 20:1-9)
Before the empty tomb, Mary of Magdala was roused out of her anguish when Jesus spoke her name. This personal act revived her love and faith in the great teacher and the Messiah. (cf. Jn 20:1-9)
The 11th century Sequence, Victimae Paschali, poetically describes Mary of Magdala’s witness to the Resurrection:
“O Mary, come and say what you saw at break of day.”
“The empty tomb of my living Lord! I saw Christ Jesus raised and adored!
“Bright angels testified, Shroud and grave clothes side by side!
“Yes, Christ my hope rose gloriously. He goes before you into Galilee.”
Share the Good News, sing joyfully: His death is victory!
(Cf. Living with Christ 2021 Easter)
We have reached the goal of our Lenten journey. Let us continue to live in the joy and wonder of the Resurrection!
Christ, our paschal lamb, has been sacrificed; let us then feast with joy in the Lord. Alleluia, alleluia! (Cf. 1 Cor 5:7b-8a)
