Today we celebrate the Solemnity of All Saints. We are happy for the people that have gone before us and are now in heaven. We honor them who lived lives of heroic virtues. It is also the feast of ordinary people who are unknown, who lived their lives in the fullness of Christian faith and love.
We are all called to be saints! We are meant to be part of the Communion of Saints. Let us walk in the path of holiness. Let us pray to God the father and to all the saints who are continually in the presence of God, to intercede for us.
We also ask Saint Marie Rivier (foundress of the Presentation of Mary Sisters) who was canonized in Rome in the month of May, to present our petitions and to pray for us to God.
She said, “Let us become who we are, saints, apostles, true disciples of Jesus Christ.”

In the gospel of today, we see how the saints practiced the eight beatitudes that Jesus gave us as a new way of living our relationship with God.
Blessed are the poor in spirit…for those who mourn…for those who are meek…for those who hunger and thirst… for the merciful…for the pure of heart…for the peacemakers … for those who are persecuted… for when people revile you and persecute you. Rejoice and be glad for your reward is great in heaven.
Let us also pray for our deceased members and benefactors especially for our own relatives and friends as we celebrate All Souls Day. Let us have a special intention for our dedicated nurse Doris Staflund who passed away these last few weeks. May the Lord shine his perpetual light on them and may they rest in peace.

“HAPPY ARE THOSE WHO HAVE DIED IN THE LORD.
LET THEM REST FROM THEIR LABOURS FOR THEIR GOOD DEEDS GO WITH THEM’.
Revelation 14:13
