On Tuesday February 20ieth, at the Sisters’ Infirmary Care Home, the Sisters gathered to celebrate an important milestone, the 40ieth anniversary of Sister Elodie Filipe from Portugal.
United in communion, the sisters sang and praised God for her special day, 40 years of life, love, and adventure. Sister Elodie has found her path in life that makes her happy, the path of religious life. The joy of the Gospel fills her heart and the joy of her dream came true. She hoped to come to Canada one day. She came to give a helping hand to Sister April Mireau with “Youth Ministry” at Mary’s House, in Saskatoon. It is the virtue of hope that kept her moving forward, and that gave her wings to come to Canada. She came out of her comfort zone to fulfill her dream to see new places and try new experiences. We are so fortunate to have her!
While we enjoyed the drinks and ate the birthday cake, Mrs. Marge Bodnarchuk, a talented musician, entertained and cheered us with some background fun music.
Sister Elodie may you embrace your 40ieh with grace, strength, and courage. Hope your birthday has filled you with happy moments and blessings from God. We are so grateful for your willingness to help us. Thanks for your true signs of friendship. It is good to be united in faith with the Presentation of Mary family.
