We commend to your prayers and remembrance our dear sister Albina Labonté (Sainte Marie-Angèle)

She died at 3101 Care Home, the infirmary of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in Prince Albert, May 28th, 2024. She was in the 83 years old and had 63 years of religious life.

The funeral will be held at the Sacred Heart Cathedral at 10:30 a.m. on June 3rd, 2024, with the Rev. Maurice Fiolleau officiating . Interment to follow at the Sisters’ Section, at the South Hill Cemetery, in Prince Albert, SK. Arrangements are with River Park . Sister Albina leaves to mourn: Members of her Religious Congregation, Cousins and friends. She was predeceased by: Her parents: Henri Labonté and Lucienne Pelletier (both from Quebec)

She taught school for 11.5 years, in Manitoba: Le Pas and Birtle School. She then taught in Prince Albert at Academy Presentation of Mary. In 1974 Sr. Albina had a change of career, obtaining a diploma of Applied Arts in Nursing at Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon. She nursed for 21 years. She started at the Holy Family Hospital and continued her nursing with our sisters at our Infirmary. Sr. Albina continued her training as a Spiritual Director and worked as a Parish Administrator at Sts Martyrs Canadiens in Saskatoon. In 2004 to 2010 Sr. Albina became the Provincial Assistant in Prince Albert. Sr. Albina will be remembered for her 26 years of wonderful drama productions done with her students. She will be fondly missed by her religious congregation, relatives, students and friends.
