Thanksgiving is a tradition that we celebrate; it is remembering the first pilgrims that gathered together with the Native Americans in the 17th century in thanksgiving for all the blessings they had received for their successful harvest in 1621.

“Most gracious loving Father Giver of all good gifts, make holy all that we offer with gratitude from the harvest of the earth.’”Giles Harcourt

As we remember the origin of this feast let us put our hands together to thank God for all our blessings and gifts that He has bestowed on us.

Let’s encourage one another to cultivate grateful hearts.  Life itself is the greatest gift of all; let it flow with thankfulness, allow the Lord Jesus to preside over our heart, our thoughts and our lives.  A good way is to think grateful, imagine grateful and act gratefully.

God gave us the grace to do good works and acts of love”. Ps 89 1-5

As we gather around our tables with our families and friends this ‘Thanksgiving Day’ let’s take a moment to appreciate and give thanks for all the good things we have received in our lives.

“Whatever you do in word or in deed do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17

Nature is a reflection of God; let’s admire the beauty of the spectacular fall foliage during this autumn season that God has created for us.  As these colored leaves fall to the ground they remind us of our own lives.  Let go things that clutter our lives, cast aside our ego-self.  When I let my defenses go, some new blessings appear.  We are called to go forward to look to the future with positive expectations to do better. Welcome new life and new beginnings.

“I hope I can be the autumn leaf who looked at the sky and lived. And when it was time to leave gracefully, it knew life was a gift.”   By Dodinsky

WISHING YOU A BLESSED THANKSGIVING DAY!
