On Thursday, June 12, the family of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary enjoyed an informal social gathering at our Infirmary Care Home in Prince Albert.

We had the joy of having from Italy; our Superior General and a Councilor to our gathering. Most of our Sisters in the Prince Albert province were present, from Regina to Qu’Appelle to Saskatoon to North Battleford to Prince Albert. Meeting and being present to each other generated an atmosphere of laughter, camaraderie and the delight of simply coming together in one place. We are scattered around the city and province, meetings like this create a bond of unity, of communion, of companionship as we journey together along life’s path.

For dinner, all enjoyed a taste of summer barbecued hamburgers.  It was good to reconnect with our Presentation web of friendship in face-to-face fellowship during the meal and into the afternoon.

Later In the afternoon we had Sing-Along Songs animated by our Sister Rita Bisson and her North Battleford music group (songs and guitars), created a festive spirit which encouraged everyone to sing along with them.

During their performance we could see and feel the enthusiasm and joy that the music brought to the Sisters. The variety of their lively songs could nourish a soul and even lead into prayer such as ‘We thank you Lord’ by Don Moen.

Here are a few examples of songs:

“Lord I hope this day is good
I should be thankful Lord, I know I should.” Don Williams

“We got Love I have been praying to you faithfully friends, they all know cause we can’t help but let it show smiles we can’t hold” by Don Williams

At the end, there was a generous, appreciative thank you to the performers that prompted to have a return visit.
