During the month of November, we remember our ancestors, forefathers and foremothers.

November 1, 2025-Solemnity of All Saints Day,

Nov. 2, All Souls Day

Nov, 11, Remembrance Day

November 1st, we celebrate all those people who are now canonized as saints in heaven by the Church. Two young men, Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati, were canonized on September 7th 2025, by Pope Leo XlV.  These two ordinary young Italian men responded to God’s call to live out the Gospel in their daily lives in early 20th century culture. They had a great relationship with Jesus through adoration and devotion to the Eucharist and the Rosary.  Both loved Jesus and the Church, showed compassion for the poor, and evangelized in their own unique ways. Their short lives are models in sanctity for us as we respond to God’s call in our own lives as we are all called to be saints, be Christ bearers.

November 2nd, we celebrate “All Souls Day”. Traditionally on this day we remember and commemorate all the faithful departed who have gone to their eternal reward. We can pay a tribute to someone by visiting a cemetery, make a prayer on their behalf.

“Happy are those who have died in the Lord. Let them rest from their labors for their good deeds go with them’. Revelation 14:13

May God grant them eternal rest and let perpetual light shine upon them. Amen. May they rest in peace!

On November 11th, Remembrance Day, we remember with gratitude all the men and women who served in the armed forces, and gave their lives during different wars. Let us pause to remember the courage and sacrifices that they made during the World wars Let us pray for the victims of war and violence in our world; for example, in the Ukraine, Gaza, the Middle East and other countries. May the Lord guide the leaders of all nations to make just decisions and be peacemakers.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God”. Matt
