On Monday, December 1, 2025, Staff and Sisters welcomed the Christmas season in a spirit of togetherness. The staff prepared a party which they graciously shared with the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary Care Home.
The evening debuted with a “pot-luck” supper provided by the staff members. Festive napkins and paper plates set the tone for a delicious multicultural supper: pizza, different salads, spring rolls, various Philippine delicacies. A purple mango cake and a white cake topped off the meal. Soft drinks were also available. Some of the younger children of staff joined us in the festivities.
Musical background was provided by Julieta’s 10-year-old son playing a variety of Christmas melodies on the keyboard. This gave a festive atmosphere. Well done, Liam! He even bravely concluded with a short piece on the trombone! Bravo!
Fun Games led by Debbie and team were played by some staff members and even some brave Sisters! Candy kisses, candy canes and other goodies were the holiday prizes for all participants.
Once the laughing calmed down, distribution of thoughtful gifts was given to the Sisters and to the Staff. An overflowing Door Prize provided by staff contributions was won by Eleanor. The Staff also provided a box of goodies for the Sisters – to be shared at Christmas! All in all, it was a joyful sharing of talents and fellowship by all participants.
Concert
On Saturday afternoon, December 5th, we welcomed the members of the Prince Albert Concert Choir conducted by Perry Acorn and accompanied by Robert Casgrain on the organ. They entertained us with their reflective and festive Christmas music. Then the Sisters were invited to join in as they sang Christmas carols.
We thanked them for their well-done performance which gave us warmth and joy to the heart, wishing them a very Merry Christmas.
