Let us rejoice in the Lord as we celebrate the feasts of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We say she was assumed, taken up body and soul into heaven at the end of her earthly life.
The Magnificat speaks about the lifting up the lowly, now Mary stands in the presence of God enjoying the beatific vision.
She said the prayer of the Magnificat when she visited her cousin Elizabeth. She was a woman that lived her life in bringing goodness to others. Can we do the same? Mary always goes in haste, towards others; she does not forget her children. Ask the Lord to remind you to imitate Mary, for all those people in our life who would need us and move with haste towards others to bring the light of the gospel.
‘My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God, my Savior’.
Mary was the perfect lady to give birth to Jesus, the Son of God. She was full of grace, strong in faith. Isaiah says,
‘Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one on whom my favors rests ‘.
The life of Mary is graced, she was open to the Lord’s graciousness love that drew her close to God’s heart, her spirit is filled with gratitude.
She was the holiest among all saints. The Lord God guided her steps up to the moments when Jesus was born. She was open to the will of God’
‘Thy will be done’.
Let us celebrate her memorial and honor the rule of Mary as the Mother of God and our Queen of heaven and earth and honor her. Let us ask through her intercession that we might show forth the greatness of God in our lives.
Mary’s name appears twice in the prayer of the “Hail Mary.’’ As you pray with your rosary today, let us pray for peace in the world.
September is the day of her birth, daughter of Joachim and Anne. Mary is the mother of the living. When she was born her parents did not know that she would be chosen to be the mother of Jesus. Us too, let’s believe that our lives will bear fruit, may we live each day as well as possible and believe that God is on our side ready to help us. Put all our trust in him as we go through our everyday pains and struggles. Think of Mary as she stood near the cross, what sorrow she might have had.
Let us take Mary, mother of ‘sorrows’ for a wonderful model of faith. We thank and praise God for giving to all mankind the virgin Mary, may we remember her and pray to her daily intercession that we too might show forth the greatness of God in our lives.
She was chosen to be the queen of the prophets and for all of us. May we open our hearts so we can recognize the presence of God within us.
Thank her for her life and word, which teaches us gratitude which makes us discover the wonderous things that God has done for each one of us.
